My second attempt at a Playdate game. I've improved a bit since my last one, especially in regards to the menus / presentation, but there's still lots to learn. Originally the core gameplay was going to be more complicated (Closer to a Launcher game as opposed to a one-button timing one), but time and inexperience necessitated a change in plans.
Known problems / Areas of improvement:
Polish: Again, I'd love to add more detail and some sound. Probably next on the list.
Game Feel: Not super happy with the sense of speed in the current build. I imagine this would be in part from the lack of background detail, but the momentum system definitely needs work. Additionally, there's some strange interactions when holding a dive after colliding with something.
General content: I'd love to come back eventually to touch up the details and add some of the cut out ideas. Maybe even end up with two separate versions available.
Special thanks to:
SquidGod's incredible tutorial series. Many of his videos and examples were used over the course of the project.
Crabaret's Itch.io cover image template.
The Playdate Dev forums. While I didn't ask and questions directly, they were a great source of information.
